Ocean Green is a sister initiative to Ava Ocean, working to restore kelp forests along the Northern Norwegian coast through sustainable sea urchin harvesting. These once-thriving marine ecosystems are vital for biodiversity, carbon absorption, and local livelihoods, but have been decimated by overgrazing and climate change.

The Project

Our task was to craft a distinct yet complementary brand identity, one that honoured Ava Ocean’s roots while giving Ocean Green its own vibrant voice. Our challenges:

  • Create a new visual identity that feels fresh but still aligned with Ava Ocean’s branding.
  • Reflect the duality of science and nature, innovation and restoration.
  • Capture the circular economy ethos at the heart of the project.

The Solution

We evolved Ava Ocean’s dot motif into flowing organic lines, inspired by kelp’s natural movement underwater. The result? A sleek, modern symbol of restoration, growth, and interconnected ecosystems.

A semi-custom sans-serif typeface strikes a balance between clean functionality and natural rhythm, mirroring the project's blend of science and ecology.

We paired kelp gold and ocean indigo to evoke both vibrancy and depth. These hues stand apart from Ava Ocean’s deep purple while remaining visually harmonious.

"Very happy with this project and Fleur's work.

She followed the brief and at the same time managed to be creative within the guidelines. She delivered above and beyond and communication was prompt and clear all the way through. I will definitely recommend, and use her services again.
